Are you thinking about placing an order for eyewear? Or, are you waiting for a shipment to arrive? You may be wondering where exactly it’s coming from.
So, where does EZContacts ship from? The short answer is that EZContacts ships from our U.S. warehouse in New Jersey. Most orders are processed and shipped directly from here.
But depending on the product, some items might be processed at our optical lab or come from the manufacturer or an authorized distributor. Then they’ll arrive at our warehouse for final processing and shipment.
I’m going to explain how it all works. And I’ll share some info on delivery times, how to track your order, and the returns process.
An Inside Look at the EZContacts Shipping Process
We process every order through our U.S. fulfillment network, with our main warehouse in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. The journey your order takes depends on what you purchase.
Most products are ready to leave the warehouse immediately. But for some items, there are additional steps involved.
Prescription lenses have to be fabricated in our optical lab before they’re sent back for processing. And sometimes, inventory is transferred from one of our authorized distributors before it’s shipped out from our warehouse.
This is also why some orders can arrive at your door within a few days, while others take a bit longer.
In-Stock Eyeglasses and Sunglasses

When we mark items as “In Stock,” that means they’re already at our warehouse and ready to go.
If you order before the daily order cutoff time (2 p.m. EST), we can often ship your glasses the same business day. This applies to orders that don’t require custom or prescription lenses.
Prescription Glasses and Custom Lens Orders
For prescription or custom lenses, there are a few more steps required for you to receive your glasses.
After you provide your prescription or lens customizations and complete your order, your frames are sent to our optical lab. Here, our lab technicians and opticians get to work producing and fitting the lenses into your chosen frames.
Depending on what you choose at checkout, this work can include:
- Lens cutting and shaping to match your frames
- Applying coatings such as anti-reflective coating or blue-light filtering
- Specialized treatments like tinting or transition technology
In general, prescription lenses take around three to five business days to be produced in the lab. However, some more complex configurations can take closer to five to seven business days.
Once our opticians finish the assembly, your glasses return to our warehouse for a final and rigorous inspection. After they pass quality control, the order is packed and shipped to you.
Contact Lenses And Prescription Verification
Contact lenses typically move through our system fast, especially if they’re already sitting in our warehouse.
Before shipment, we need to verify your contact lens prescription. Customers can directly upload their prescription, provide their eye doctor’s information, or complete an online prescription renewal if eligible.
Most in-stock contact lens orders ship within one or two business days once the prescription has been verified. Contact lenses ordered before the daily cutoff time may even ship the same business day in some cases.
Orders Sourced From Manufacturers or Authorized Distributors
EZContacts carries a massive inventory that includes more than 250,000 products, including eyewear from over 300 designer brands. With such a large selection, not every frame, lens, or contact lens box is physically sitting in the warehouse at every moment.
If something is temporarily out of stock, we’ll source it directly from the manufacturer or authorized distributors. This happens most often with specialty contact lenses, high-demand designer frames, or less common color and size combinations.
In most cases, these kinds of products arrive at our warehouse within one to two business days. Then they go through processing, inspection, packing, and shipment before heading to your door.
How Long Does EZContacts Shipping Take?

The time between hitting the “Checkout” button and being handed your package at your doorstep depends on two things: processing time and shipping time.
Some orders move through the system incredibly fast. Others need a little more behind-the-scenes work before they’re ready to leave our warehouse.
Processing time
For in-stock items ordered before the daily cutoff time of 2 p.m. EST, there’s a good chance your order can be processed and shipped the same business day.
Non-prescription glasses and sunglasses are usually processed within three business days (though we try our best to get them out the door even sooner).
As mentioned above, more specialized orders take a bit longer to process. Custom and prescription lenses for glasses can take closer to five to seven business days to produce and process.
Shipping time
Once your order leaves our warehouse, shipping speed depends on the delivery option selected at checkout.
We offer free standard shipping with USPS within the United States for many orders. Standard delivery usually takes around five to seven business days, depending on your location.
Need your order sooner? Expedited options like two-day and overnight shipping are also available for many products.
Bear in mind that shipping time starts after we’ve already processed your order. So made-to-order items will always take a bit longer to reach you.
Where Does EZContacts Ship To?
We ship throughout the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. We also ship internationally to Canada and Mexico. Shipping options and delivery times will vary depending on the destination and product ordered.
How To Track Your Order

Once your order ships, you’ll get an email with tracking details. You can also track it through the Track My Order page on our site.
If your order hasn’t shipped yet, that means it’s still in the processing or production stage. If there are any delays, we’ll email you within 24 hours to let you know what’s going on.
Returns and Exchanges
We accept returns on products within 30 days of when you received them. They must be unused and returned in their original packaging.
Custom eyewear can also be returned within 30 days, but there’s a $25 restocking fee to cover some of the cost involved in producing your custom lenses.
To start a return or exchange, you can use our online returns portal. You’ll also find more information about policies here.
TL;DR
- EZContacts typically ships orders from our New Jersey warehouse.
- Many of our products are always in-stock at the warehouse. They can often ship the same business day if you order before the 2 p.m. EST cutoff.
- Prescription or custom lenses need to be made in our lab before they’re ready to ship.
- We need to verify contact lens prescriptions before shipping.
- Items that are currently out of stock need to be sourced from the manufacturer or authorized distributors. This can make processing times longer, but we’ll keep you in the loop. You can see which items are in stock on the product page.
- Total delivery time depends on both processing and how quickly your chosen carrier delivers.
