Green Shades from the Runways to Inspire Your 2023 Spring and Summer Looks

Let's go green

Fashion month 2023 has come to an end. St. Patrick’s Day looms near. The two seem connected this year.

Move over Barbie pink because from chartreuse lime to forest, pistachio, and emerald, green seems to be the trendiest color of the year. And in this post, we’ll look at crazy cool eyewear that’s right in step with the “think green” vibe popular on runways in NYC, London, Milan, and Paris.

The trend began to rise two years ago, when Daniel Lee popularized “Bottega Green,” a Kelly-green adjacent hue, almost instantly associating it with all Bottega accessories from sunglasses to purses. Cut to the Spring/Summer ’23 runways and shows like Givenchy, Michael Kors, Fendi, and of course, Bottega Veneta, included stand-out green looks.

This hue is playful, bold, and the perfect pop of color against a neutral outfit. Street style stars have been gravitating towards a bold Kelly green, often with reflective lenses, to buy into the ever-prominent sport shades style, but this runway trend is wearable for even those not keen on gas station chic.

In fact, this trend ranges from dark forest green to neon bright, so you can opt for whatever shades you feel most comfortable in. From emerald to jade, we’ve rounded up some favorite green sunglasses for spring inspiration.

Transparent light green

These candy-colored Versace shades buy into the playfulness of this year’s colorful trend.  With the futuristic extended shield-style frame and plenty of silver hardware, these frames strike the perfect balance of playful and trendy.

Kelly green

It wouldn’t be a roundup of green sunglasses without including the wildly popular Kelly green. These grass-colored sunnies add a spirited touch to the exaggerated and angular cat eye frame.

Green and dark grey

Miu Miu is often thought of as the fun-loving younger sister to Prada and these Miu Miu frames fit the bill perfectly. The rectangular frame features a slight rise in the frame so it’s the perfect blend of angular cat eyes and rectangular shapes that’s been dominating the runways.

Gucci in green

Gucci has become synonymous with oversized ’70s-inspired frames and these aviators are par for the course. The lenses get a modern update with forest green tinted lenses that contrast the tonal tortoiseshell frames.

Green and geometric

Want to add a wash of color to your frame without fulling buying into the trend? These Prada glasses embody another runway trend: rectangular frames. Not quite the skinny frames counterpart that took 2016 by storm, consider this their more flexible big sister.

Go big and green

As the saying goes, go big or go home. These Ferragamo frames certainly pack the punch if you’re looking to go all in. The rich emerald color offers a sophisticated take that feels apropos for sunglasses that will take you into fall and winter.

Rimless n’ green

If you’re hesitant to go with a colored frame, these frameless sunnies by Saint Laurent add a whisper of color. With a gradient dark green to taupe lens, they’ll offer a hint of color to brighten your face and freshen your outfit.
