Are you trying to choose between Stanton Optical and EZContacts? This guide can help you!

I looked through both brands’ websites, checking their pricing, inventory, shipping policies, and return policies, reviews, and more. From there, I was able to determine who wins. Let’s get into it!

Pricing & Value

Let’s start by looking through the eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses sold at Stanton Optical and EZContacts. We’ll also take a look at the various subscription and loyalty programs offered by the two stores.

Comparing Eyeglasses

Stanton mostly sells their own brand of eyeglasses. They also have a few options from big eyewear brands, like Carrera.

Stanton’s cheapest frames are currently $29.99.

Stanton Optical glasses page

However, that doesn’t include the lenses. Stanton’s cheapest lenses are $55.99. And so, the cheapest glasses you can get with lenses are $85.

At EZContacts, on the other hand, you’ll be able to get glasses at a much lower price. EZContacts has options from a wide variety of eyewear brands, and these come in a large range of prices.

There are frames available starting at $4.31 from brands like Peachtree.

Peachtree Glasses at EZContacts

EZContacts’ cheapest lenses are $39.95, which is $15 less than the ones available at Stanton. And so, once you add in clear lenses, the cheapest glasses available at EZContacts start at around $54.

There isn’t too much crossover between Stanton and EZContacts’ inventories. They both sell some of the same Carrera glasses, though. Let’s compare these to see who has the lower prices.

At Stanton, these Carrera frames cost $99.99 without adding lenses.

At EZContacts, these same glasses frames cost $98.80.

If you want to add lenses, you’ll be able to save at EZContacts. At Stanton, the base lenses start at $55.99.

This means that the cheapest glasses you can get with lenses will cost $155.98.

At EZContacts, lens prices start at $39. This means that you’ll be able to get these same glasses at $138, saving you $17, or around 11%.

Comparing Sunglasses

Stanton’s sunglasses inventory is limited. They mostly offer sunglasses from their own brands, along with just a few options from brands like Carrera. The cheapest sunglasses available are $29.99, and they go up from there.

This is a higher starting price than EZContacts. At EZContacts, there are many sunglasses available starting at around $10 to $15.

You’ll also find more variety at EZContacts. For example, these cool Havana brown Harley Davidson sunglasses are cheaper than any of the options available at Stanton.

These stylish Juicy Couture sunglasses are also cheaper than any sunglasses available at Stanton.

Comparing Contact Lenses

Stanton Optical and EZContacts both sell contact lenses from many major brands, including Johnson & Johnson, Alcon, and Bausch & Lomb. However, the contacts are generally a bit cheaper on EZContacts.

Let’s take AIR OPTIX plus HydraGlade as an example. At Stanton, a six-pack is currently $71.99.

At EZContacts, on the other hand, a box is $59.95, saving you $12, or about 16%.

It’s the same story with Biofinity Multifocal. At Stanton, these contacts currently cost $111.99.

Other Important Price and Value Considerations

Contact Lens Subscriptions and Loyalty Programs

EZContacts offers a contact lens subscription program. With this program, you’ll be able to save 10% on each of your contact lens orders. You can choose to have your contacts delivered every month, every two months, every three months, every six months, or once a year.

If you want to change your subscription, simply log in to your EZContacts account and go to the ‘Subscriptions’ tab. From there, you can edit the frequency of your subscription, your next shipment date, and the quantity of your subscription. You can also easily cancel if you need to.

In addition, EZContacts also offers a loyalty program called EZPoints. With this program, you’ll earn one EZPoint for every $2 spent on eyewear. When you get to 250 points, you’ll get an email with a $25 coupon. You can then use this for your next purchase at EZContacts.

Stanton Optical offers two loyalty programs: Frame Club and Contact Club. Frame Club costs $49 a year, and you’ll receive four free frames a year and 50% off lenses, including coating and add-ons. You can also transfer the free frames to your family and friends.

Contact Club costs $20 a year, and it gets you 20% off an annual supply of contacts, or 10% off a lesser supply. You also get 50% off frames and lenses, and you get next year’s contact lens eye exam for free.

However, the big issue with both of these programs is that you have to sign up at a Stanton Optical store. This can be tricky if you don’t live near a Stanton Optical location. It’s also simply not convenient; with EZContacts, everything can be done online from the comfort of your home.

Price-Matching

EZContacts offers a 105% price match guarantee. If you find a product you bought at a lower price at a competitor’s store, EZContacts will refund you the difference. Plus, they’ll give you an additional 5%.

Stanton Optical offers a best price guarantee, where they’ll match a better price you find elsewhere. However, they don’t offer the extra 5% off as EZContacts does.

Insurance Options

Stanton Optical accepts most major insurance plans, including FSA and HSA. They also offer a special discount for Medicaid in-store. In addition, they offer buy now, pay later options in-store, like Affirm. You can also pay with a credit card and then submit a receipt to your insurance company for reimbursement. Stanton doesn’t help with this, though; you’ll have to submit your receipt to your insurance company yourself.

EZContacts is an out-of-network eyewear retailer. You can use your out-of-network insurance benefits and coverage at EZContacts.

Because EZContacts is out-of-network, you’ll need to first pay for your eyewear with your own credit card. Then, you can get a reimbursement from your insurance company. EZContacts makes this easy, though; to start the reimbursement process, just fill out this form.

You can use your FSA/HSA card for eligible items, such as prescription glasses and contact lenses. To use these cards, simply enter your card info at checkout.

Who Wins

It’s close, but EZContacts wins this round. Stanton Optical has many inexpensive glasses and sunglasses on offer, and they also have a loyalty program called Frame Club that can help you save.

However, EZContacts takes the win with their lower prices on eyeglasses, contact lenses, and sunglasses. In addition, EZContacts offers easy-to-use loyalty programs that you can sign up for online.

Frame & Lens Selection

Number of Products and Brands at Stanton Optical vs. EZContacts

Stanton Optical has a limited number of both products and brands available online. They offer men’s, women’s, and kids’ eyeglasses. However, they don’t sell kids’ sunglasses. In addition, they sell a limited number of eye care products, including eye drops, a lens cleaner kit, and eye compresses.

Stanton Optical carries more designer brands in store; in total, they say they have 1,500 frames available. However, this can be inconvenient if you don’t live near a Stanton Optical location. With EZContacts, everything you need is online.

On their website, Stanton Optical currently has 733 eyeglasses available from 26 brands. The majority of these are their own brands.

Return Policy & Warranty

Stanton Optical Return Policy

Stanton Optical offers a 30-day satisfaction guarantee for its eyeglasses and sunglasses. If you’re not completely satisfied with your frames, they’ll replace them for no charge with any other equal or lower-cost frames. Or, they’ll provide a refund if you don’t want new frames.

Unopened contact lenses may be returned within 90 days of purchase. Stanton won’t accept any boxes that have been opened or that have marks or tears on them.

To begin the return process for online orders, you’ll need to call Stanton’s toll-free phone number. Note that Stanton does not refund shipping fees.

In addition, Stanton Optical offers a free one-year Frame Warranty with every frame purchase. With this warranty, you only pay 20% off the retail price to replace or repair your frames. They also offer a two-year Lens Warranty for purchase. The cost varies by lens type, and it typically costs 20% of the retail price of the glasses.

EZContacts Return Policy

EZContacts also offers a 30-day return policy for all eyewear, including glasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. Contacts must be returned unopened, but frames can be returned opened. When returning your frames, you’ll need to include everything they came with, including warranty cards, authenticity papers, case, and cloth.

Note that return shipping isn’t covered except for defective products or discrepancies. However, EZContacts doesn’t charge a restocking fee if you return your item within 30 days.

To begin your return policy, you just have to log in to your EZContacts account. Head to your order page, and click ‘Start Return’ next to the order details. Or, just head to the returns and exchanges page and put in your order details there.

After 30 days, when EZContacts’ warranty ends, the manufacturer’s warranty will apply to your product. Depending on the manufacturer, this warranty will typically last for one to two years. The details will all be on the warranty card with your product.

Who Wins

It’s close, but Stanton Optical wins with its 90-day return policy for contacts. Still, EZContacts does make it easier to begin your return process. Rather than having to call a phone number as you do with Stanton, you can simply do it all online.

Customer Service & Support

Stanton Optical Customer Service

Stanton Optical offers a toll-free phone number where you can call with any questions. However, they don’t have an email address. They also don’t provide information on how many hours a day their phone lines are manned.

They also have an AI chat available that can answer simple questions, such as checking your order status or helping you book an eye exam.

Many customer reviews highlight issues with Stanton’s customer service, both online and in-store. One reviewer wrote:

“I was not told until it was time to pay that my insurance was out of network. I called customer support, who then transferred me to the store, where they tried to gaslight me into saying that they told me at the beginning. They even held onto my insurance until after my eye exam. I was with my father who was told AFTER the eye exam that they were then looking into his discounts for his insurance. Shouldn’t it be clear from the beginning if you are going to be covered or not? Why are you performing eye exams without being clear about coverage? Why is it just a zoom call and not a physical doctor? Scam behavior.”

Customer Ratings & Reviews

Stanton Optical Reviews

Stanton Optical currently has a 4.2 out of 5 stars on TrustPilot from 3,591 reviews. Many reviewers were happy with Stanton’s prices and friendly staff.

However, there were also a few negative themes that came up, including Stanton’s slow delivery times. One customer wrote:

“Ordered 2 pair of glasses on 8/1/25. 1 pair sunglasses and 1 pair clear. Supposed to be ready 8/15/25, then 8/26/25. 1 pair still floating around somewhere. They were reordered 9/5/25, their automated system said they were ready 9/19/25. Called the store, WILL NOT BE READY TILL 10/5/25! Reviews should have a zero or negative stars because I’d give them -8!”

Stanton Optical customer review

Some reviews also mentioned that the company has hidden fees. One customer wrote:

“Although the staff was very nice, they had to charge me $36 for replacing frames that were under warranty. I only had the glasses for 2 months and the frames snapped while sitting on the nightstand overnight. When I bought them I was told that there was a 1 year warranty (I wasn’t told there would be a cost to me), so I don’t understand the $36 charge. Beware of hidden charges.

Stanton Optical review

Over on Reddit, many other customers shared that they’ve had issues with Stanton Optical. One customer wrote:

“I made the mistake of going there last week and the second mistake of just now reviewing my receipt closely while uploading it to my flex spending account. I was charged for so many lens add-ons that I didn’t ask for, 10.99 for a bottle of rewetting drops that I didn’t ask for, and they enrolled me in the contacts club and charged me $20 for that…

We got 4 pairs of glasses and the extra charges comes to nearly $400. And aside from the money, I don’t like extra coatings on my glasses and I hate the look of polarized sunglasses.

Trying to get my facts straight so I can fight this, but you can’t just call other stores directly- the calls go to a foreign call center.”
