Clariti 1 Day: What They Promise

Clariti 1 Day Contact Lenses by CooperVision

Clariti 1 Day contacts are marketed as an ‘entry-level’ brand. They’re budget-friendly compared to other daily contact lenses, but they still offer a comfortable experience.

When you go to the Clariti 1 Day official webpage, the promises are quite straightforward: easy to wear, all-day comfort, high breathability, UV protection, and sustainability.

First, let’s look at the all-day comfort and breathability claims. Clariti 1 Day uses WetLoc® Technology and somofilcon A silicon hydrogen material.

Somofilcon offers up to 56% water retention. The WetLoc® Technology adds a layer of moisture that is hydrophilic and mimics how your eyes stay wet. Together, these two materials provide high oxygen transmission and superior moisture retention.

Clariti 1 Day also offers UV protection. These lenses filter out over 50% of harmful UVA rays and 95% of UVB rays. However, note that contact lenses don’t provide complete UV protection since they only cover your pupils. So, be sure to also wear your sunglasses to protect your eyes.

Sustainability is another frequent lens manufacturer claim, and Clariti 1 Day wins in this aspect! These lenses are certified net plastic neutral through CooperVision’s partnership with Plastic Bank.

The lenses are produced in a LEED gold-certified facility, one that’s awarded for a high level of green building performance. And, the daily contact lenses that you use up are offset by CooperVision’s credits from Plastic Banks. That’s great!

One, Two, and Three Star Ratings

Now, to get a full picture of Clariti 1 Day, let’s look at some of the lower ratings. We’ll start with the customers who were in the middle.

James C. gave the contacts a three out of five, and he writes:

50/50
⭐️⭐️⭐️

“Typical packaging makes it hard not to smudge the lens before putting it in your eyes touching the inner surface. These are not the best for dry eyes that I’ve used. Color is clear.”

Elisha M., on the other hand, mentioned her dry eyes:

Didn’t work for me
⭐️⭐️⭐️

“Didn’t work for me. My eyes are dry, but these made it much worse in one day. My eyes bothered me for hours after taking them out.”

There were also some one and two-star ratings. Kevin M. gave them two stars and claims they were uncomfortable and moved around.

Uncomfortable
⭐️⭐️

“Uncomfortable. Move around in eye.”

Cristin C. also wasn’t a fan of these contacts, calling them “terrible cheap lenses.” She says:

Terrible cheap lenses
⭐️

“These are cheap flimsy plastic crap. They constantly rip and scratch my corneas. I only wear them because that’s what my Dr prescribed.”

What Reddit Users Say About Clariti 1 Day

For good measure, I also checked out Reddit to see what users are saying about Clariti 1 Day.

User Kcflowerny asked what people think of these lenses, writing:

“I bought 1 box of Clariti 1 Day Multifocal recently, it’s quite cheap, even 45% cheaper than hydrogel lens 1 Day Acuvue Moist Multifocal.

For me, the nearsight is not clear, and I can feel the lens [exist] in my eyes for the whole day, not comfortable.

How do you find it?

A Redditor named JimR84 is a fan. He says:

“Very comfortable lens.”

Another Reddit discussion compares Clariti 1 Day with another CooperVision daily lens, MyDay.

Here, it gets interesting. Several users say Clariti 1 Day is the lesser of the two. User Virtual_Field439 claims

“I found Clariti to have a slightly better vision but MyDay to be more comfortable.

This is understandable since Clariti 1 Day is an entry-level brand. It is more affordable, but it still provides ample comfort.

Overall, it seems that verified EZContacts buyers and those on Reddit are happy about their Clariti 1 Day experience. If you’re looking for an entry-level daily disposable contact, these could be a good choice for you!
